Mechanical Sludge Treatment

HUBER has developed collection stations for the acceptance of faecal sludges, which have been successfully used worldwide for decades. Tankers can be emptied quickly and all coarse and impurities can be removed reliably and trouble-free.
 

Sludge screening is used to remove coarse material and disturbing solids and increases the operational reliability of subsequent sludge treatment.

With mechanical sludge thickening processes, the volume of conditioned thin sludge can be significantly reduced in a short time while requiring little space. The resulting concentrated thick sludge still remains free-flowing and is thus ideally prepared for the further treatment stages of stabilisation and dewatering.

High shear or pressure forces are used to dewater conditioned sludge into a compact or free-flowing product. The degree of dewatering of the sludge has a significant influence on the costs of further sludge treatment steps such as transport, disposal and recycling.
